Prayers Answered!!!

Mary’s Story
This is my story about when I started smoking and when I quit smoking. I was in labor with my daughter and my husband smoked at that time. I would lite his cigarettes for him sometimes. I noticed when I was in labor when I inhaled the smoke and released it my pain was controllable. Being young and did not know inhaling and exhaling was a technique to help control labor pain, that is how I started smoking. I went to see my doctor about a surgery that I had put off for years. The doctor told me that it was time to have the surgery done, but I needed to stop smoking for at least 2 weeks. I asked why and he stated there could be a chance my lungs could collapse and I could possibly die. So I prayed about the situation and asked God to help me stop smoking. I put in my mind if I could stop for 2 weeks I could stop forever. So I stopped for those 2 weeks and when I returned home from the hospital I tried to start back but the cigarettes did not taste right. So I thought well God did answer my prayer and that was in December of 1995 and I am still smoke free to this day. I feel better about myself I never knew how bad smoke smell on your body, skin and breath. I thank God for being smoke free for 21 years now.
